Terms of Use
The rules for playing Banana Walk, in plain words.
Effective [the date this version is published]1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and [seller or legal entity, exactly as on the App Store and Google Play listings], the developer of Banana Walk ("we", "us"). They cover the Banana Walk app on iPhone, Apple Watch and Android, its widgets, and the online features that come with it, like accounts, friends and leaderboards.
By using Banana Walk, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard license terms also apply. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply. Where those store terms and these terms conflict about the license to use the app, the store's terms win.
2. Your account
- Age. You must be at least 13 to use Banana Walk. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
- Playing without an account. You can walk, earn coins and collect bananas without signing in. Your progress then stays on your phone only, and you can lose it if you delete the app or lose the phone.
- Signing in. You can sign in with Apple, Google or an email address to save your progress and use friends and leaderboards. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Usernames. Your username is chosen once and can't be changed later. It must not pretend to be someone else, contain someone's personal details, or break the community rules below. We may remove a username that does.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from You → Settings. That removes your account and its saved progress from our servers; the copy on your phone stays as a local save. How to delete your account explains what goes and what is kept.
3. Coins, bananas and other items
- You earn coins by walking. Coins, bananas, capsules, looks, traits, card parts and every other item in Banana Walk are virtual items for use in the game only.
- They have no real-world value. You can't sell them, trade them for money, or cash them out, and we never sell coins. Gifting a spare banana to a friend inside the app is the only way to pass items on.
- You get a license, not ownership. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the items you earn or receive while you use the app.
- We may change the game. We may rebalance prices, odds, rewards and items, retire features, or fix mistakes. If a bug gives out too much, we may correct balances. If a problem on our side costs you something, contact us and we'll try to make it right.
- Fair play. Steps must come from you actually walking or using a wheelchair. Faking steps, using bots or exploits, or altering the app to get coins or items isn't allowed, and we may remove items gained that way.
4. Banana Club and the Premium Pass
Banana Walk is free to play. We offer two optional purchases, both cosmetic only. Neither sells coins, changes odds or helps you collect bananas faster.
- Banana Club is a yearly subscription. It includes the base track of every season's Pass and the member price for each season's Premium Upgrade. There is no free trial: the price is shown before you buy.
- The Premium Pass unlocks both tracks of one season's Pass. Members can get it for a lower price as the Premium Upgrade. It's a one-time purchase for that season only and doesn't renew.
- Renewal. The Banana Club renews automatically at the end of each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. If you cancel, you keep the Club until the end of the paid period, and you keep every reward you've already claimed.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We can't issue refunds directly.
- Prices are shown in the app and the store before you buy, and may change for future periods. Purchases are tied to your Apple or Google account; use Restore purchases to bring them back on a new phone.
5. Community rules
Friends, leaderboards and team walks let other players see your username, your banana, your player card and your steps. On public leaderboards, players who aren't your friends see a made-up name instead of your username. We have zero tolerance for abusive content and behavior. Don't:
- choose a username, board name or anything else that is offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening, or that targets a person or group;
- harass, bully or impersonate anyone;
- share anyone's personal information, including your own;
- fake your steps or cheat on a leaderboard, pledge or wager;
- spam invites or friend requests.
Reporting and blocking. Tap a player on a leaderboard or your Friends list to open their card, where you can report or block them. We review reports and act on them, usually within 24 hours.
What we may do. We may remove names or content, take back rewards won by cheating, limit or suspend social features, or close accounts that break these rules, with or without warning.
6. Walking safely and your health data
- Stay aware. Watch where you're going, not your phone. Follow traffic rules, and don't use the app while driving or anywhere it isn't safe.
- Not medical advice. Banana Walk is a game. Step goals, streaks and stats are for fun and motivation, not medical or fitness advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have a health condition.
- Step counts can be off. Steps come from your phone's motion sensors, Apple Health or Health Connect, and they can be missed or miscounted. We aren't responsible for rewards lost because a step source didn't report steps.
- Your health data. We read only step and wheelchair push counts, only with your permission, and only to run the game. We never sell health data or use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Privacy, ending, and changes
- Privacy. How we collect and use data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
- Ending. You can stop using Banana Walk and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop running the game. If we shut down online features or the game, we'll give notice in the app where we reasonably can. Items have no cash value, so nothing is owed for them when the game or your account ends.
- Changes to the app. We update Banana Walk often and may add, change or remove features. Some features may need the latest version of the app.
- Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Banana Walk after that, you accept the new terms.
8. Disclaimers and limits
- As is. Banana Walk is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it running smoothly, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that your progress will never be lost.
- Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or virtual items. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Banana Walk in the 12 months before the claim, or $10 if you paid nothing.
- Your rights. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of [state or country to confirm], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of [location to confirm], unless the law where you live says otherwise.
