Accessibility
We want everyone who walks, or pushes, to enjoy Banana Walk. Here's what the app supports today, what we're still working on, and how to tell us what would help.
Supported
- Dark mode. A full dark look that follows your phone's setting, or choose Light or Dark in You → Settings → Appearance. The Apple Watch app is always dark.
- Reduce Motion. With your phone's Reduce Motion on, Banana Walk stops drifting backgrounds, bobbing characters and sparkles, and shortens transitions.
- Contrast. Text is chosen to stand out from what's behind it (at least 4.5:1 for regular text), checked in both light and dark.
- Not color alone. Rarity tiers have their own marks and names, locked items show a lock, claimed ones say "Claimed", and progress uses rings and checks as well as color.
- Text size. Banana Walk follows your phone's text size up to about 140%, and You → Settings → Text size has its own Large and Larger settings.
- Touch. Buttons are at least 44 points tall, and sound and haptics can each be turned off on their own.
- Wheelchair users. On Android, wheelchair pushes from Health Connect can count toward your goal.
In progress
- VoiceOver and Voice Control. Buttons and cards have spoken names, but we haven't yet checked every screen end to end, so we don't list them as supported.
- Larger text. Support for the largest accessibility text sizes (up to 200%) is planned.
