  3. "Pull a capsule." The Banana Mart machine rocks and a capsule rolls out.
  4. "30 bananas. 6 tiers." One banana per tier, Common to Mythic.
  5. "Rare ones come alive." Lightning, magma, frost, fire and wisps on the rare bananas.
  6. "Shiny. Radiant. Prismatic." A banana's shine levels up.

How it works

Steps in, bananas out

Banana Walk reads the steps your phone and watch already count. You don't start a workout or carry anything new. Just walk the way you do, then open the app to see what you earned.

  1. Walk

Your phone counts the steps, even while the app is closed.

  2. Drop coins

A coin drops every 100 to 1,000 steps, at a moment you never see coming. Now and then one bursts into five.

  3. Pull a capsule

Ten coins buys a pull at the Banana Mart. Five or ten at once cost a little less.

  4. Collect

Equip a favorite and it stands on Home and walks with you, adding miles toward medals and a glowing aura.

The collection

30 bananas so far. Six tiers. More on the way.

Every banana has its own painting, its own poke sound and its own effects, and the rarer ones crackle, glow and drip. Duplicates aren't wasted: they push a banana up three shine levels, or trade up for a pull at the next tier. New bananas join the Mart in updates, so the collection keeps growing.

More bananas are on the way. Every one you collect now stays yours.

The odds are always shown

The odds per tier above are the real ones, and the Mart shows them before every pull.

Bad luck runs out

If 14 pulls in a row bring nothing rare, the 15th is rare or better.

Wish for the one you want

Every pull adds a point to your wish meter. At 150, you choose any banana.

Features

More to do on every walk

Everything here is earned by walking. Nothing in Banana Walk sells coins or better odds.

Customize every banana

Customize each banana with hats, scarves and bows, patterns and colorways, and a pedestal to stand on. Every banana keeps its own look.

A daily goal and a streak

Pick a goal from 1,000 to 15,000 steps. Checkpoints cheer you on the way there, and a capsule waits at the flag. Streak freezes cover the days you can't.

Quests and achievements

Three fresh quests a day and a long ladder of achievements, each paying extra coins.

Friends and leaderboards

Add friends by username and race them for an hour, a day or up to a month, team up toward one goal, or pledge coins on hitting your own target.

Gift your spares

Got three Crystal Nanas? Send a spare to a friend who's still missing one.

Traits that grow

The more you walk with a banana, the more it changes: halos, moons, fireflies and songbirds that level up as you go.

A monkey in the garden

He peeks out of the bushes on Home and works the machine at the Mart. The garden itself changes from dawn to night.

Apple Watch and widgets

See today's steps around your banana on your wrist, collect quests and pull from the Watch, and keep your banana on your home screen.

Made for everyone

Wheelchair pushes count as steps. Larger text, Reduce Motion and screen readers are supported.

Getting started

Your first walk, step by step

  1. Install Banana Walk

It's free on iPhone and Android, and the Apple Watch app comes with the iPhone one.

  2. Allow Motion & Fitness

That's how the app reads your steps. Allow Apple Health or Health Connect too, so steps from your watch and from while the app was closed count. You can say no and change your mind later.

  3. Pick your daily goal

It starts at 5,000 steps. Choose anything from 1,000 to 15,000, and change it any time in Settings.

  4. Spend your first 100 coins

You start with enough for ten pulls. Head to the Mart and fill your first shelf.

  5. Go for a walk

Coins drop as you go. Open the app afterward to watch your steps roll up past each checkpoint.

  6. Sign in when you're ready

It's optional. Signing in with Apple, Google or email backs up your collection and turns on friends, gifts and leaderboards.

Questions

Good to know

Is Banana Walk free?

Yes. You can walk, collect every banana and play with friends without paying. There are no ads, and coins can't be bought: they come from walking, quests and achievements.

Does it track my location?

No. Banana Walk never reads your location, and it doesn't use GPS. It reads step counts from your phone's motion sensor and, if you allow it, from Apple Health or Health Connect. It doesn't read any other health data.

Do I need an account?

No. Without one, your progress stays on your phone. An account (Apple, Google or email) backs it up so it follows you to a new phone, and it's needed for friends, gifts and leaderboards.

Will strangers see my steps?

Only on a leaderboard you choose to join. On a public leaderboard, people who aren't your friends see a made-up name instead of your username, and your name and email are never shown to anyone.

I use a wheelchair. Can I play?

Yes. Turn on Count wheelchair pushes in Settings, and pushes recorded in Apple Health or Health Connect, for example by an Apple Watch in wheelchair mode, count as steps.

What if I miss a day?

Nothing is lost except the streak count, and a streak freeze can cover a missed day. Your coins, bananas and progress always stay.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open the You tab, then Account, then Delete account. You can also ask us to delete it without the app.

Somewhere out there is a Spirit Nana with your name on it.
